Risja Steeghs werkt en woont in Limburg als beeldend kunstenaar. Ze is gevestigd in haar eigen kunst & design galerie genaamd RISJA GALLERY. Deze creatieve broedplaats waar galerie , studio & workshops samenkomen ligt in Reuver, Limburg.

Het werk van Risja kenmerkt zich door haar multidisciplinaire aanpak  zo haarzelf en het leven probeert te ontleden door middel van haar werken. 
Ze maakt unieke kunstobjecten zoals vazen, schilderijen en wandtapijten op maat voor kunstliefhebbers, verzamelaars en bedrijven.

De kunstenaar en haar werken zijn een. Risja ziet haar praktijk als een constant ontvouwende, intuïtieve reis tussen haar, het leven en haar kunstwerken. Haar werken zijn een uitdrukking van een oneindige levensenergie die van haar tenen naar haar vingertoppen vloeit. 

De basis van haar praktijk kenmerkt zich niet door een unieke interne kracht waaruit zij haar inspiratie put. Deze word gevoed door de natuur, aanrakingen in het leven en poëtische teksten die ze leest en ook schrijft.
Haar werken ziet ze als een universum, een op zichzelf staand, uniek en kleurrijke cosmos die uitnodigt tot een zachte onderdompeling.

Risja studeerde af aan een Master Sculpture aan het prestigieuze The Royal College of Art te Londen.

Risja Steeghs  is a contemporary artist and proud owner of RISJA GALLERY. An art gallery with a twist. She is currently working and residing in Limburg, The Netherlands.

Her practice moves along the lines of sculpture, installation, painting. She mostly focusses on textile paintings, ceramics and unique, handmade items for your interior and your closet.

As well as creating bespoke art pieces such as vases, paintings and tapestries which fit the personal need of private clients, collectors and companies.

Risja is the embodiment of her artworks and objects. She sees her practice as a diaristic documentation of life itself.

An intuitive journey between herself, her life and the work at hand. Her artworks and objects are an expression of incessant life energy which courses through her body, from her toes to her finger tips. Her artistic practice is not focussed on concept but draws inspiration from an internal source which is fueled by nature, soft encounters and poetic research and writing.

Each artwork is perceived as an immersive universe with different colours, textures, holding its own living and breathing qualities.
The artist aims to explore the merging of life and art as unity. Continuing to live and express in her own unique and vibrant way.

Risja graduated in a Masters of Sculpture at the prestigious
The Royal College of Art in London. Number 1 art & design academy in the world.
